OpenOffice.org PDF Importer is a standalone Linux application that allows you to import PDF documents into OpenOffice.org Writer. The graphical frontend is Python wx based. So, python-wx is required, as well as a working installation of OpenOffice.org to run the application.
I have no plans to make versions for other platforms. However, the source code is available to download and I believe that it is possible to compile it to run on other *nix based systems with some work. I'd be interested to know if anyone does this.
As this application was developed in Ubuntu Linux I believe that is should be possible for Windows users to try the application using andLinux.
